Lady Gaga To Play Herself in New Movie

Lady Gaga is set to play herself in Matthew Vaughn's new film.

The 'Applause' hitmaker is the latest celebrity being lined up for a cameo in the director's British spy thriller 'The Secret Service', however, unlike Taylor Swift and David Beckham - who have been rumoured for parts in the film - Gaga is expected to play an exaggerated version of herself.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Gaga only had to commit one day to film her scenes early next year. She's such an Anglophile she didn't take much persuading.''

The 27-year-old pop star is the latest big name linked to a cameo in the movie, joining David, 38, Taylor, 23, Adele, 25, and Sir Elton John, 66.

'The Secret Service', which is based on a graphic novel by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, will follow Colin Firth as a suave secret agent who is tasked with teaching the tricks of the trade to his young protégé.

Samuel L. Jackson will play the movie's villain.

Singer Gaga has been stretching her talents across the film world after landing her debut acting role in Robert Rodriguez's dark action movie 'Machete Kills', which is due for release later this year.

The 'Poker Face' star plays gun-toting vixen La Chameleon in the film, which sees her act alongside Jessica Alba, Charlie Sheen and Sofia Vergara.

Gaga also filmed a cameo for next year's 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For', and co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently said she ''nailed'' the performance.

Cher Turns Down Olympic Performance Over Russia's Anti-Gay Law

Superstar Cher has turned down an offer to perform at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, citing the country's anti-gay legislation for her decision.

The Believe hitmaker was asked by a friend to become an ambassador for the sporting event and open the show, but the gay icon immediately declined.

She tells Canada's MAClean's magazine, "I want to know why all of this gay hate just exploded over there. He (her friend) said the Russian people don't feel the way the government does."

In June (13), Russian lawmakers banned the "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations", sparking international backlash and protests from human rights campaigners.

Many politicians, athletes and celebrities have spoken out against the law, including Lady Gaga, Madonna and actor Wentworth Miller, who recently 'came out' as gay.

Lady Gaga Opens Up About Cher Song Dispute

Lady Gaga has finally spoken out about her decision to block the release of her collaboration with Cher, insisting the song wasn't up to par because they recorded their vocals separately.

Cher has been candid about her frustration after Gaga refused to let the song, titled The Greatest Thing, feature on The Believe hitmaker's new album.

But an unfinished version of the track was leaked online last month.

Gaga has now opened up about the dispute over the song, admitting she didn't like the finished product because it wasn't a true collaboration between the two artists.

"I have so much respect for Cher and I love Cher so much that when we do a duet that we release, I wanted it to be something that was really, really special," Gaga said, speaking on US TV show Watch What Happens Live.

"...We just didn't have time to work on it together...

"We recorded it (separately)... and I wrote the song a long time ago."

"To be fair, if I was writing a song for Cher now, I would want to hear her album and I want to know where she is in her life. I would want to talk to her about where she is going musically and I didn't get to do any of those things."So I didn't want to put out something that wasn't up to par with what Cher has put out before. It's not really about me, it's more about her. Because it's Cher!"

On The Cover: Lady Gaga Graces October Elle Magazine

Lady Gaga graces the cover of the October issue of Elle magazine, on newsstands on September 24th. There are a few excerpts from the interview:

On handling pressure:

“What are you talking about, pressure? I’m great under pressure. I’m a warrior. I’m Rocky, round 12.”

The difference between Gaga’s high-priestess act and the girl who spends time with her family:

”I am—Stefani is—a perpetually tortured artist. That’s why I changed my name. I can’t be her in public. She would be a mess!”

On raging against the critics who question the authenticity of her early struggles:

“Everyone is so cynical—that I can’t purely love my fans, or share an honest story about my past, without someone asking me if I really, truly struggled. Do you know how much dirt I ate? Do you know the men I had to crawl through, the people that disrespected my body, my mind, my heart?”

TV Watch: Lady Gaga Talks Molly Use, Lesbians, Miley and More!

Lady Gaga didn't "plead the fifth" at all when it came to Andy Cohen's questions. In fact, the Applause singer was more than willing to discuss her drug use and sex life on Wednesday night's "Watch What Happens Live."

Cohen asked, "What is the most interesting place you've taken a ride on a disco stick?" This, of course, is in reference to one of her lines in Love Games where she refers to the male anatomy as a "disco stick." Gaga, 27, answered with the "most fun" place she's had sex, admitting that it was in the woods. Blushing a bit, she adds, "[It was] on the floor, in the grass!"

Moving onto her drug use, the late-night host asked Gaga when was the last time she partook in Molly, a form of ecstasy. "I think maybe it's hard to remember," she said while laughing. Admitting that she did it a lot in her "raver days," the singer says now she wouldn't encourage it. "Be careful with Molly," Gaga instructs.

Katy Perry Roars In The Billboard Digital Songs Chart This Week

Katy Perry’s upbeat pump up tune Roar is taking the world, or parts of it anyway. In the week since its release, the single has sold 557.000 digital copies, according to MTV. The sales meant the song is now at the top of the Billboard Digital Songs Chart. Roar turns out to be the fastest seller of Katy Perry’s career, surpassing even her 2010 smash hit Firework, which shifted 509,000 copies in its first week.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Digital Songs Chart looks pretty familiar – Lady Gaga’s Applause enters at number 3, while Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines at 2, Jay Z’s Holy Grail at 4 and Miley Cyrus still partying it up with with We Can’t Stop at 6, the chart this week also features a fresh addition. 16-year-old New Zealand native Lorde is having a completely different kind of party at Number 10. This is Lorde’s first foray into the Billboard chart, but with clever original lyrics, an interesting voice and a chilled out, relatable image like hers, it it’s likely to be the first of many. With 107,000 digital downloads thus far, the songenters the chart with a bang this week.

Danny Tenaglia And R3hab Team Up With Ono To Reinvent 'Walking On Thin Ice'

Following a decade of dancefloor domination as her alter-ego ONO, Yoko Onocomes full circle with the release of brand new remixes of her landmark 1981 classic "WALKING ON THIN ICE" from Grammy-nominated house musiclegend DANNY TENAGLIA and Dutch EDM heavyweight R3HAB.

In 2003, MIND TRAIN and TWISTED RECORDS took this song to the top of the Billboard Club chart kicking off ONO'S streak of 10 #1 BILLBOARD HOT DANCE CLUB PLAY chart-topping club hits, including "HOLD ME", "TALKING TO THE UNIVERSE", "MOVE ON FAST", "I'M NOT GETTING ENOUGH", "NO NO NO" and "EVERYMAN / EVERYWOMAN".

Ten years on, ONO revisits "WALKING ON THIN ICE" and teams up with DANNY TENAGLIA and R3HAB to reinvent the timeless anthem giving it a modern retrofit melding the classic with the contemporary - old school and new school - with blistering results.

TENAGLIA, whose studio output since the start of the 21st century has been greatly limited, dusted off his studio chops to deliver an incendiary rework of the classic cut. His first remix in nearly a decade, Danny comes out swinging with an epic masterpiece with all the hallmarks of his best work. In an era of A.D.D., Danny reminds us of the glory of a mind-twisting, continually unfolding 10+ minute journey into sound.

R3HAB has firmly established himself in the Dutch dance scene alongside Chuckie and Afrojack. With his crisp, high-octane productions, R3HAB's become one of the most highly sought-after EDM A-listers with a discography that includes remixes for artists like LADY GAGA, MADONNA, LMFAO, JENNIFER LOPEZ, CALVIN HARRIS, KASKADE, FAR EAST MOVEMENT, PITBULL, DAVID GUETTA, and KATY PERRY.

Originally recorded during the 'Double Fantasy' recording sessions with John Lennon, "WALKING ON THIN ICE" would be the last recording by John and Yoko -- recorded on that fateful night of December 8, 1980. Released in the early months of 1981, the pioneering electronic-injected dance / post-disco / nu-wave hybrid would become ONO's definitive masterstroke and, easily one of her most accessible, best-known and well-regarded works, brilliantly capturing the kinetic pulse, tension, gritty nihilism and urban cool that defined the times then, and, in an acknowledgement to its timeless insights, continues to define them now.

The slightest of glances at today's world makes it clear that we're WALKING ON THIN ICE 2013. TENAGLIA and R3HAB get it, and nailed it.

Lady Gaga and Cher "The Greatest Thing" Leaks

“The Greatest Thing,” the duet between Lady Gaga and Cher that Momma Monster has disavowed, surfaced today.

As you recall, in June Cher replied to a fan on Twitter that Lady Gaga “doesn’t like it, or want it to come out. She’s an artist, it’s up to her. I’m disappointed 2.”

Now, in addition to being disappointed, Cher is also pissed. Apparently, the RedOne-produced version that leaked today is the “wrong version,” she tweeted. Her full tweet: “Disappointed (I’ve sat on fkng song 4 over a yr) NOW SOME ASSHOLE LEAKS WRONG VERSION! GaGa’S SINGLE IS GREAT, & THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS).” What a nice little plug for “Applause," which also leaked, forcing Lady Gaga to release it a week early, yesterday.
